The relationship between the number of homes for sale, the new listings and the number of sales tells you a lot about the market. Here is an slide show of different real estate zones. The top red line is the number of current listings and the lowest line is the number of sales. In the hottest neighborhoods there is not much seperation between these two lines. In some areas such as Gilroy / Morgan Hill there is a huge difference between number of homes for sale and the number of homes that are sold. These graphs are based on Single Family Residences ( SFR ) sold in Santa Clara County.
